Writer's Workshop

The Prompts:

1.) Tell us about a lie you told that you later regretted.

2.) Choose a task you'd like someone to complete and write a poem asking them to do it.

3.) Describe a talent you have.

4.) Write a list of ten things on your mind this week.

So I have been somewhat of a slacker as far as Writer's Workshop goes. I mean, Mama Kat is kind enough to host this fabulous event the least I could do is participate. I chose all four prompts because I am Wonder Woman Super Mom. Thats right. I said it. I admit to it. I am WWSM because I do it all folks, and I am beautiful and witty and I can pour cereal and shower and type and wipe noses all within the same day. My biggest, most obvious attribute is my humility.....

BUH-DUM-CHING (*rim shot*)

OK, ok... let me step off my pedestal and get to the assignment at hand...

1.) Hmmm... nevermind #1

2.) Not really in the mood to poetisize but I do wish the kids would pick up stuff off the floor instead of stepping over or ON it ten-thousand times! Sheesh!

3.) Noooooot really all that talented at any one thing in particular unless breaking down an crying is considered a talent... I ROCK at that.

4.) Ten things on my mind... this I can handle...

  • I wonder if I will have to get a real job (I stay at home and homeschool). Times are tough but I really don't want to work. I have so little time and energy to do anything for myself (this blog is about it) and if I worked too, even just a few nights a week it would really take its toll on my mental stability. I know we could use an extra $100 a week and I will do what I have to ... just hope it really doesn't come to that. Unless I can find something to do from home a few hours a night... any ideas?
  • I was watching TV, sort of in a daze, when I suddenly realized I was looking at talking balls of mucus. Seriously? Who comes up with this stuff?
  • Is it too late to plant those tulip bulbs I bought last Fall and on a completely unrelated note... birdfeeders.
  • Watched American Idol tonight for the last time :-( ...aaaaaaaaaaaannnd we are already rooting for the young widower. He's got pipes. Anyone want to tape the season for me :-0
  • I need a haircut.
  • Why am I so tired and sore and fatigued, its not like I've been through surgery... oh, wait.
  • My Love *sigh* I don't deserve him.
  • Coraline
  • When is the next appointment? Which kid is it for? Is it for me? Is there a copay? Did I shower today? Should I pack snacks? Where is the hand sanitizer? Has everyone gone potty? Are you wearing underwear? Pew... you need changed! Is everyone buckled? Where are we going again? Do you need socks? What is in your hair? What is on your shirt? Where is the car? Who is making that noise? Could you not chew that. Don't lick your sister. No park today. Why are your pants backwards? Whose children are these anyway?
  • God help me. (Seriously not in vain... it is an urgent, daily plea)

P.S. Does anyone else think Mama Kat looks just a little like "Bikini Girl?"

You are cracking me up this morning!!! Love your list! The only thing I can think of that your can do at home to bring in extra money is watch a kid or two during the day BUT that alone threatens anyones sanity so maybe an out of house evening job would be better!!

As always, you provide a chuckle when I need it. ;-)
Maybe you can open an ETSY shop to sell those ugly mugs? ;-)

Great list but I am sure you could come up with a poem if you wanted to. That was a lie. :)

lol ... Oh my goodness! I have been sitting here thinking "Wow, Bikini Girl looks so familiar!" That's who it is!! It's MamaKat!! :-) How funny! Should we let her know?

And, if last night was your last AI episode viewing you can hop by my blog for the weekly low-down. I'm an addict. And, I admit it.

Oh, and the young widower is in my inner circle. Ya know ... not the cell phone one. But, the one I secretly create for AI. Well, not so secretly.

your list was great; made me smile once or twice or maybe three times

you have a real job, LOL, a hard job!! I hope you don't have to go out and work; I know you will do what you have to do though

you know, I'm not an American Idol fan, but I'm a fan of Lost, pathetic, I know; we just discovered it about 4 months ago and got caught up on all the previous seasons. When the new season started on a church night, I made the decision not to get a DVR to pay the extra $16.00 a month just to tape it and resolved to wait out the season and then buy it when it becomes available for $40.00 which seemed like a better deal, right?

Well, lo and behold, thank you Lord, I was doing some surfing on the net and found that I could watch free episodes of Lost through ABC.com. To make a long story short, we watched it (granted on a small computer screen rather than our 19 inch TV) but we were able to catch up with this season. I don't know if the channel that does American Idol does the same thing.........

hugs to you!!!

betty

Are you getting rid of your TV? or do you not have cable and the Digital thing taking it's toll on you?

I think that widower has the best pipes too.

You are such a funny, witty woman. You have such a talent.

I so understand about the work thing. I don't want to either. I feel like I just put myself on the list again... and now thinking about others again... yikes.

So funny! I totally agree with the talking mucous balls comment - every time I see that stupid commercial my gag reflex goes all haywire!

Bikini girl!?! Ahahahahaha hahahahahaha. Gasp! Ahahahah ahahahahahaha. Ok Becky...you just keep thinking that. You would be sorely disappointed if you saw me in a bikini. Sorely.

That being said....now see that I totally lost my train of thought.

I can't believe you got jacked on mister linky! I wonder why it messes the list up like that. :( Sorry!

I plan on working after I have kids, because I don't think I could spend every waking hour with them and stay sane. Kudos to you for maintaining sanity :-)

You lost me right near the beginning of this one. Mucous balls? American Idols? I am seriously out of it where TV is concerned -- and happily so, based on what I just read. ; D

As far as the first thing on your list, I'm right there with you my friend.

As far as the trip with the kids, all I can say is "oh do I remember those days!!" LOL

Hope your still feeling better and stronger every day.

I love the second to the last bullet. I think you and I are sharing a brain.

I laughed reading your list of things you are thinking of! With little ones around it's like you never stop the mental checklists. And the one I always seemed to miss was the dirty fingernails--gross!!!
